Lipinki's gmina (gmina is a primary rural unit in Poland) is situated in the south part of Poland, the south-east part of Malopolskie Voivodeship, near the border of Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The Lipinki's gmina is composed of six villages: Lipinki (as a center of local authorities), Wojtowa, Pagorzyna, Kryg, Rozdziele and Bednarka. The total area is 66,14 sq km, and the population is approx. 6.850.
Historically it was the part of "Ziemia Biecka", the royal territory with local authorities in Biecz - one of the most important towns in Poland of middle-century. "Ziemia Biecka" was the borderland of Hungary and Halicka Russia. In the middle-centuries two important roads led through this region: from Silesia to the east and from central Poland to Hungary. It was the reason of hold-up groups activity.
